Profile
Biography
Chandrasekhar graduated with a Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. During his Master's, he worked on Metal hydride-based cooling systems.
Later, he joined the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, to pursue his Ph.D. His doctoral work primarily involved the experimental investigation of atomization of the liquid jet when injected transversely into supersonic flow in relation to SCRAMJET engines. From his Ph.D., he found that there is a substantial unsteadiness involved in the jet penetration height, shear layer vortices, shock strength, and downstream spray characteristics due to the unavoidable Shock Wave Boundary Layer Interaction (SWBLI). These unsteady aspects and jet-crossflow interaction behavior can be altered by employing simple passive control strategies, namely, orifice shape and jet's interaction area with the supersonic crossflow.
After his doctoral work, he joined the Propulsion and Power group at TUDelft as a Postdoctoral researcher, where he is currently working on Non-Ideal Compressible Fluid Dynamics (NICFD).
