Biography
I joined TU Delft in 2024 as a Research Data Manager part of the Digital Competence Center and the Research Data and Software Services of the TU Delft Library.
Through my biomedical engineering studies and academic career I specialized in designing pipelines for the quality control and analysis of different types of (bio)medical data, in R and other programs. Then I had a two-year experience outside academia where I applied my data skillset to support the public sector in many projects spanning different socio-economic relevant topics, from labor market to water management.
My experience in working with data makes me aware of the challenges that researchers may face in order to make the best use of their data. As a data manager I have now the opportunity to help researchers facing such challenges in the different lines of cutting edge research conducted here at TU Delft.
João graduated in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering at University of Lisbon and then he received his PhD from Radboud University in 2022. During his PhD he investigated the shared genetic influences of brain function, cognition and psychiatric disorders.
