Profiel

Biography

I am an Assistant Professor with the Department of Engineering Structures, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. I was recruited under the  TU Delft AI Initiative. In 2019, I received my PhD degree at TU Delft on data-based structural health monitoring of railway catenary infrastructures. Before my PhD, I studied electrical engineering at Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, China. I am an Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement.

Research

My research lies in the interface between artificial intelligence (AI) and engineering structures. I believe AI provides a new perspective for solving challenges in the digital and sustainable transformation of engineering structures. I aim to develop AI techniques that understand our existing knowledge of structural mechanics/dynamics and utilize this knowledge to solve real-life problems in structural health monitoring, lifecycle asset management, and digital modelling and design.
