Biografie

Dr. Bas van Oudheusden is associate professor in Aerodynamics at Delft University of Technology. He obtained his MSc degree at the Aerospace Engineering department of TU Delft in 1985 and his PhD in 1989 at the Electronics Engineering department of TU Delft, on the topic of a semi-conductor flow sensor. His current research interests are viscous flow effects at low and high speed regimes, shock wave – boundary layer interactions (SWBLI), unsteady flows (including flapping-wing aerodynamics) and “pressure-from-PIV”. Regarding the latter topic he published a review article in Measurement Science and Technology (2013, doi:10.1088/0957-0233/24/3/032001) and acted as co-ordinator of the EU-funded collaborative project NIOPLEX (2013-2016) and WP leader in its follow-up HOMER (2018-2022). He was also involved in European research projects on SWBLI: UFAST (2005-2009) and TFAST (2012-2016). He is (co-)author of approximately 200 scientific articles (Scopus, Dec 2022).
