Profiel
At TU Delft, Bilal will be investigating the experimental and numerical aspects of non-newtonian fluids under turbulent flow regimes in the context of domestic waste transport. He will be conducting experiments on circular pipes carrying non-newtonian fluids to quantify the pressure loss (friction), velocity, and turbulence profiles.
The experimental data will be used to unravel the basics of non-newtonian turbulence and develop computational fluid dynamics (CFD) based methods.
Academische achtergrond
Bilal was born and brought up in India from where he got his primary and secondary education. He graduated with honors in civil engineering from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and later did his master’s in water resources engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. During his masters, he worked on CFD modeling of high concentrated slurries.
Bilal joined TU Delft, Faculty of Civil Engineering & Geosciences as a Ph.D. candidate in November 2021.
