Biografie
After working as a process engineer for a year in the private sector, I decided to pursue a PhD to satisfy my sense of curiosity and broaden my knowledge in the field of biological wastewater treatment and the aerobic granular sludge process in specific. I was then offered a chance to join the Environmental Biotechnology group of TU Delft within the WATER-MINING project as a PhD candidate. The WATER-MINING project aims to provide for real-world implementations of the Water Framework Directive, the Circular Economy and the EU Green Deal packages by showcasing and validating innovative next-generation water resource solutions at a pre-commercial demonstration scale. In short, my research is about investigating the effect of different sugars such as glycerol and glucose on the anaerobic and aerobic conversions of aerobic granular sludge as well as the phosphorus removal processes by linking process stoichiometry to microbial community analysis.
