In the ESP Lab (Electrical Sustainability Lab), the Dutch electricity grid is prepared for the future. Three lines of research play an important role in this: Photovoltaics, Power Electronics and Digital Technologies. Within these lines of research, innovation takes place across the entire chain. From generation, conversion, transport, distribution and storage to the use of (green) electricity, and from innovative hardware to smart algorithms. The mini-documentary outlining Lucia's dream is part of a triptych and represents the Power Electronics research line. The other two documentaries introduce the scientific ambitions of Miro Zeman (Photovoltaics) and Peter Palensky (Digital Technologies).
