Twee wetenschappers van de faculteit CITG, Louise Nuijens en Hadi Hajibeygi, hebben ieder een Vidi-financiering toegekend gekregen van de Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO). Hiermee biedt NWO hen de mogelijkheid om een eigen onderzoekslijn te ontwikkelen en een eigen onderzoeksgroep op te bouwen.

Professor Jan Dirk Jansen, decaan en hoogleraar Reservoir Systems and Control bij de faculteit Civiele Techniek en Geowetenschappen (CiTG), werd in Delft benoemd tot Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw.

Heating our homes is warming up the Earth too. Associate Professor Phil Vardon and PhD candidate Ivaylo Pantev want to warm or cool buildings through their pile foundations, by using the natural temperature of the soil. Professor Timo Heimovaara is the new Department Chair of Geoscience & Engineering as of 1 January 2019. He takes over the activities of professor Michael Hicks, who was interim Director for the period 1 May-31 December 2018.
