Applied Physics programme

The two-year MSc programme in Applied Physics is very flexible. The actual programme you follow is determined by selecting courses from one of the tracks as well as additional specialisations.

First Year

 

18 EC - General Physics courses and Mathematics courses, e.g.

  • Quantum Mechanics,
  • Electrodynamics,
  • Partial Differential Equations.

 

12 EC - Courses from the following tracks:

  • Imaging Science and Technology
  • Multi-scale Physics
  • Nanoscience
  • Radiation, Radionuclides and Reactors (R3)

 

12 EC - Ethics, society related topics and freely chosen modules 

 

18 EC - Courses specific to one of the following specialisations:

  • Research and development
  • Management of Technology
  • Sustainability in Technology
  • Education
  • Astronomy and Instrumentation
  • Annotation in Entrepreneurship 

 

Second Year

 

 

12 EC - Courses specific to one of the following specialisations:

  • Research and development
  • Management of Technology
  • Sustainability in Technology
  • Education
  • Astronomy and Instrumentation
  • Annotation in Entrepreneurship 

 

48 EC - Master’s thesis

 


  • 1 EC = 28 hrs study, according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
  • One academic year = 60 EC
  • Total amount of credits MSc programme = 120 EC
