Environment

How can we ensure that we interact with our living environment in a sustainable way?

Although this urgent question, which is central to the Delft Environment Initiative, is a simple one, it is not always easy to provide the answer. The world around us is always changing. We are facing challenges including climate-adaptive building, drought and excess water in urban environments, improved safety in our delta region combined with nature conservation, and the possibilities for storing CO2 in a responsible way.  Researchers at Delft are investigating our living environment in a whole variety of ways. In the projects of the Delft Environment Initiative we bring all their expertise together to enable us – together with our partners – to provide coherent answers to the urgent issues of our time.
